Perbandingan Morfologi dan Kadar Protein Ulat Rhynchophorus ferrugineus pada Pohon Sagu dan Pohon Aren

Ulat Rhynchophorus ferrugineus mengandung berbagai asam amino esensial yang cukup tinggi sehingga dapat dijadikan alternatif sumber protein dalam pakan ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan morfologi instar dan kadar protein ulat Rhynchophorus ferrugineus pada pohon sagu dan pohon aren. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa perbandingan morfologi ulat Rhynchophorus ferrugineus pada pohon sagu dan pohon aren tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan, perbedaan hanya terletak pada jumlah segmen instar pertama yaitu terdapat 11 segmen pada ulat Rhynchophorus ferrugineus pohon sagu sedangkan pada ulat Rhynchophorus ferrugineus pohon aren terdapat 10 segmen. Hasil pengukuran panjang dan berat instar, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus pada pohon sagu memiliki ukuran lebih panjang 0,1-0,2 cm dan lebih berat 0,1-0,2 gram dibandingkan instar Rhynchophorus ferrugineus pohon aren. Berdasarkan rata-rata uji kadar protein pada ulat Rhynchophorus ferrugineus pohon aren yaitu sebesar 5,52% sedangkan pada ulat Rhynchophorus ferrugineus pohon sagu sebesar 2,75%
